  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is double-spaced; uses a 12-point font; with a suitable wide margin on one side of the A4-size paper; and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.

Author Guidelines

General Formatting and Submission Guidelines

  • Document Formatting:
Manuscripts should be typed using a word processor (acceptable file formats: DOC, DOCX). The document must be double-spaced, with wide margins on one side of A4-sized paper. Pages should be numbered sequentially, starting with the title page. Tables and figures must be numbered and referenced in the text.
  • Word/Page Limit:
The manuscript length (including tables, graphs, and photographs) should not exceed:
    • 20 pages (or 10,000 words) for an original research paper
    • 30 pages (or 15,000 words) for a review article
    • 5 pages (or 2,500 words) for a short communication
  • Font and Size:
Use Times New Roman, 12 pt for body text. For the title, use 14 pt bold.
Ensure consistency in font usage throughout the document, except headers and specific sections like the title page.

Title Page

The first page (Title Page) should include:

  • Title: Times New Roman, Size 14 Bold
  • Authors' Names: The author's names should be spelled properly in Times New Roman font Size 12 (with the corresponding author marked by an asterisk *)
  • Affiliations & Addresses: Times New Roman, Size 12
  • Corresponding Author: Include name, address, telephone, fax numbers, and email.

Abstract and Keywords

  • Abstract:
    The abstract should:
    • Provide a concise summary of the article, including the introduction, purpose, method, significant results, and conclusions.
    • Be 250 words or fewer (without abbreviations) and placed on the second page.
    • Stand alone and offer a clear overview without requiring further reading.
  • Keywords:
Following the abstract, list up to six keywords (Times New Roman, Size 12). These should be relevant for indexing and should avoid abbreviations unless they are commonly used in the field.

Main manuscript  sections

  • Introduction:
Provide a brief background of the current work, including adequate and recent references. End with the justification and objectives of the study.
  • Materials and Methods:
Present detailed descriptions of the materials, methods, and experimental procedures, ensuring that other researchers could replicate your study. For widely used protocols, reference relevant articles but include enough information for clarity.
  • Results:
Present the findings of the study, with a focus on important outcomes. Keep the presentation concise and aligned with the objectives.
  • Discussion:
Interpret the results in the context of prior research. Discuss the broader implications, limitations, and future research opportunities.
  • Conclusions:
Include a brief conclusion if necessary, particularly when the discussion is lengthy. Summarize the primary findings and their significance.

Tables and Figures

  • Tables:
Tables should not duplicate the text unnecessarily. They must be numbered serially (Table 1, Table 2, etc.). Table captions should be placed at the top, using Times New Roman, Size 12.
  • Figures:
Figures should be referenced in the text in order of appearance (Fig. 1, Fig. 2, etc.). Ensure figures are clear and high-quality (preferred resolution of more than 300 dpi). Use .tif or .jpeg formats. The maximum size should be 5 x 7 inches.

Equations and System of Units

  • Equations

If you are working in Word, please use the Microsoft Equation Editor or the MathType add-on for creating equations. Ensure that equations remain editable by the editorial office and do not appear as images or in picture format. Display equations separately from your text, numbering them consecutively in the order they are referred to within your text.

  • System of Units:

Please ensure that all measurements and quantities in your work are reported using the International System of Units (SI)

Chemical Structures

  • Chemical Structures:
Chemical structures should be prepared following Nature guidelines using a drawing program such as ChemDraw, ChemSketch, BIOVIA Draw, or similar programs. Ensure that structures are high quality and clearly labeled.

Journal' Template

The potential author(s) is/are advised to use the journal's two-columns template in doc/docs files (MS words). Please visit journal website for template https://kus.ku.ac.bd/kustudies

Graphical abstract and Experimental section (if applicable)

  • Graphical abstract:

A graphical abstract is an image displayed with the text abstract in the Table of Contents. It should not only summarize the article's content but also visually represent the topic in an engaging and eye-catching way. Importantly, the graphical abstract should differ from any specific figure within the paper and should not merely be a combination of multiple subfigures. It must be an original, unpublished piece of artwork. Additionally, it should exclude any images of postage stamps, currency, or trademarked items from any country.

  •  Experimental section:

The experimental section should present a clear and detailed description of the experimental method that might be reproducible. It also includes material sources and machines used with their name, model, and configuration.

 Supplementary Materials and Data Statement

  • Supplementary Materials:
If applicable, provide supplementary data such as images, data sets, or additional information. Ensure each supplementary file is described with a concise caption.
  • Data Statement:
Authors must declare whether data supporting their findings is publicly available or if any restrictions exist (e.g., due to confidentiality). This will be included in the published article.

Acknowledgments and  Funding

  • Acknowledgments:
Authors can acknowledge individuals or organizations who supported the research, including funding sources, grant numbers, mentors, colleagues, and assistants.
  • Funding:
If the research received financial support, specify the funding agency and grant number.

 References and Citation Style

  • Reference Style:
Authors should follow the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th edition format. References should be listed alphabetically in the text and the reference list at the end of the manuscript.

 Cover letter:

The cover letter, title, and abstract are among the first things the editor will review. It offers a chance to communicate directly with the editor and to emphasize what makes your paper unique.

Avoid simply repeating the abstract; instead, explain clearly why your paper deserves further consideration. Keep it brief and to the point, as longer letters can make it easy to overlook key details.
