Abstract

The green mussel inhabiting Moheshkhali jetty within the Moheshkhali channel has been identified as Perna viridis (Linn. 1758). Occurrence of P. viridis from the channel has been reported for the first time. The physico-chemical parameters of the habitat water have also been studied for one year between November, 1990 and October, 1991. The recorded physico-chemical parameters were suitable for the growth of the species.
